Project Overview

Challenge

Design a new graduation certificate that can be aesthetically pleasing for users to share on socials.

Solution

Used modern design to revitalize their certificate.

  • Used their existing color palette.

  • Made a design simple enough to be adapted to multiple viewports.

The Previous Build

As seen below, their current certificate is very simplistic, and rather bland.

Exploration

The only real constraints with this design challenge, was that it needed to prioritize the student’s name, the date, and the type of course. Aside from the obvious like color palette and logo, these were the only real walls. Keeping that in mind, all of these variations were aimed at exploring creative solutions with diversity.

My Design Solution

What the team loved about this solution was the raw simplicity. Using abstract lines and shapes, we were able to clearly center the most important piece of the certification, the user!

Final Thoughts

This is one of my favorite projects that I’ve visited. It didn’t require a ton of UX, but it really allowed me to flex my creative muscles and create something that students for years to come will hang or their wall, or reflect upon fondly.

Updates

Since I’ve left this project, the team has subtly updated this design, by adding a seal of approval from the CEO of Ceresa.
