Trajektory

Trajektory is a SAAS application that collects and visualizes partner data into one single platform. As their first designer, I was brought on to review their current design and roll out a new feature.

Project Overview

Challenge

Develop a new feature for their application that allows users to download, share, and send reports.

Solution

Create a new “Reporting Suite” that allows users an overview of all existing reports, and the ability to generate new ones.

  • Using a dropdown modal, users are able to select “Quick reports” or “Custom reports” that allow for more personalized tweaking.

  • Use their brand identity and existing infrastructure to build a simplistic page.

  • Create custom icons for the new feature.

Role

Understanding their users

Trajektory is primarily catered towards the marketing teams, stakeholders, and CEOs of large sports companies. Below is a list of all their current partners. With this in mind, my goal was to keep the design simple for users to easily understand the large amounts of data they’ll be facing.

Short preview of the user flow to best identify with our core audience.

Collaboration

One of the most important things at Trajektory was daily standups. These meetings help build a positive comradery and allow everyone on the team to focus on our product. These meetings often built positive workplace relationships, and helped align the team on our goal.

Their current website.

My design solution.

First Iteration

This first iteration initially had two CTAs at the top of the screen. The idea behind this was to show each CTA had different outcomes. Through deliberation, this concept was changed and unified.

This quick report modal allows users to easily create a new report with minimal tweaking.

This modal was my initial take on the custom path. This gives users more parameters to work with.

Launch Version

This second iteration improves on the original design very subtly. The major changes were condensing the CTAs into one button. The next big change was removing the “powered by Trajektory” branding on the bottom of the navigation and replacing it with the new “Reporting Suite” icon.

Using a segmented controller to condense the two pathways, this modal adds a description feature to make this information more tangible for users.

This “Custom Report” path expands on earlier features by now allowing users to schedule their reports. Users can now add an email attachment to their reports, and change the amount of occurrences.

Final Thoughts

Using their existing brand identity and collaborating with their product development team was an exciting process. Learning how to make heavy data interpretable by all users was a valuable challenge that taught me the importance of accessible design.

Accessibility

Looking back at this piece, I’d really love to push the team to adapt their design and make it follow more common practices. Their current build isn’t responsive or scalable.

Expanding Creativity

The project roadmap for the “Reporting Suite” leaves lots of room for innovation. We are actively working on the next update to allow users more creative control.
